Is that too much to ask for?
Unfortunately, for most people, it is.
We all have sometime been the victims of inadequate health care access. Long waiting times, doctors who don’t have enough time for their patients, county restrictions… the list can go on and on. These are daily problems in today’s health care, but there are far worse things than restricted access: the total absence of quality health care.
Rural areas all over the world are taking the biggest hits. People living in rural areas are more likely to be uninsured and more likely to delay or forgo medical care because of cost of care compared to those with insurance. They are also more likely to travel longer distances to access healthcare and the lack of reliable transportation is a major barrier.
This may not sound as a major concern, but people are dying as a result, they are dying because of low accessibility. More than 200 million children worldwide under age 5 do not get basic health care, leading to nearly 10 million deaths annually from treatable ailments like diarrhea and pneumonia. 35-40000 deaths in the U.S alone are related to people without health care insurance. People who simply couldn't attain health care because their economy stops them from receiving proper treatment. As you can see, this problem isn't just for developing countries, the industrial world is effected too and the problem is evergrowing. Accessibility and affordability goes hand in hand and they are tearing apart the very foundation of living a life without a price tag being put on it.
We’ve already said this and we will keep repeating the same message: it is still solvable through simple digital solutions.
Then why don’t we show it, why don’t we show what Project S is all about? Because in order to appreciate and support such a solution it is important to really comprehend the theory behind it.
